Tips on caring for your tree

#1

Ensure your tree is fresh and healthy, is a dark green colour, and has a dull sheen to the tip of the needles. The tree should feel heavy and full of water. There should be no sign of insect attack on the underside of the needles.

#2

Cut a small amount off the bottom of the tree – we are very happy to do this for you. After the tree is cut, the dried sap seals the vascular system so even if given water the tree would be incapable of taking it up.

#3

Keep the tree outside, preferably with the butt resting on damp ground, until you bring it into the house.

#4

Use a water holding stand if possible so the tree doesn’t dry out. If it does, the cut will seal and prevent any more moisture being taken up.

#5

Display the tree in the coolest place possible.
